Epirus Trail is long mountain adventure crossing Epirus Region, from Mt. Gramos down to Tzoumerka Mts. Dream of many years and many people, it began to be designed in 2015 by the Epirus Region authority and EPIRUS SA Development Company. With a length of 400 km, Epirus Trail is the longest single hiking route ever developed in Greece.

Epirus Trail based on and highlights the old communication roads, used for centuries by local people to travel across Epirus.

The regions crossed by Epirus Trail include areas of exceptional natural scenery, unique ecological value and genuine cultural elements.

Epirus Trail is divided into three sections:
- Eastern section, 140 km long, starts form Konitsa, loops around Gramos and goes as south as Metsovo.
- Western section crosses Timfi Mts and the Zagori area before join Metsovo.
- Southern section bridges the extremely mountainous zones between Metsovo and Kataraktis, Tzoumerka area.

Epirus Trail is under development. No specific waymarking is available, nor all connections are feasible. Only some parts of the trail, mostly in the Zagori and Metsovo area, are already open to hikers. As for April 2017, Epirus Trail app is covering only the Eastern section. Be careful to venture across.

The application offers active navigation, descriptions and photos for 14 trails. Each trail has an elevation profile, a statistic analysis, a detailed description, several photos and a POIs list.The apps provides also detailed off-line maps, a useful list of POIs with a comprehensive search engine.

In the field, the application identifies the nearest route and make active navigation to it and then along it, with continuous messages to the user, while pops-up photos on every interesting or important terrain feature close to his position. If the hiker position is more than 20 meters far from the trail, the application warns him and suggests how to go back.
